Glovers Alley — Dublin’s brand new fine dining experience
At Dynamo, we love our food as much as we love a great brand experience. So, when we were approached by the Fitzwilliam Hotel to work with them on the development of the brand for their new restaurant, we jumped at the chance. Based in the Fitzwilliam Hotel at Stephen’s Green, Glovers Alley is set to make its mark as a new concept for fine dining in Dublin. The restaurant opened on Friday 2 February after a spectacular year-long renovation costing €1.3 million. The space has been completely re-imagined from what went before and is now a powder pink suede, marble-topped, brass-gilded, mirrored-ceilinged vision.
When we began our work on the branding, we met with Michelin starred Head Chef and part-owner, Andy McFadden to explore his ideas for the restaurant. We all felt that the marque should take its cues from the beautiful surroundings and we incorporated all the finishes that were planned into the graphic design. The custom drawn typeface of the logo took its cues from the Streamline Art Deco style of the interiors while the colour notes came from the sumptuous furnishings. The leaf motif is inspired by Andy’s love of citrus in his dishes and the lime trees seen across the Green from the restaurant windows. As you would expect, every detail is considered – right down to the bathroom door signs.
Glovers Alley isn't just a name or a street, it's a sophisticated and luxurious experience. And soon it'll be even more than that. Both here in Dublin and beyond, it's set to become the address for great food, a scintillating atmosphere and an unforgettable location. And at Dynamo, we're honoured to be a part of it.
