The Ryan Foundation in partnership with Trinity College Dublin have created a new world-class academy for the dramatic arts that will stand alongside institutions like the Juillard in NYC and RADA in London. They came to Dynamo in need of a name, a brand, a positioning and a killer look to entice students from across the globe.
Naming such an institution is a pretty tall order. The name needs to be relevant but not overtly subjective, contemporary but respectful of the past, it’s a minefield. Working with a raft of inspirations, such as Irish mythology, and themes and passages from famous writers, we landed our name… The Lir – National Academy for Dramatic Art. Following that, we brought the brand to life as we developed the Academy’s website, brochures, stationery, fundraising materials and much more.
The Lir Academy landmark building was opened in October 2011 and is now recruiting the next generation of actors and performers.
